LANTERNS

I have recently introduced the art of lantern making to Crete, where I now live, and I've been the designer and creator of the lanterns used in all the opening ceremonies for Giortes Rokkas, based in the mountain villages of Kera and Rokka from 2017 to 2019.

As one of the core artists of the Lantern Company UK, we created the six Viking lantern ships for the Opening Ceremony of the European Capital of Culture 2017 in Aarhus, Denmark. 

In previous years I have been a workshop leader for the famous Ulverston Lantern Festival, from 2007 to 2009. I designed the large processional lanterns and huge sculptural bonfire for Goole, the final performance which was seen live by over 10,000 people.
